DIY Curly Tree Picks

Here are all the details for what I used in the tutorial, I hope you enjoyed it and have a go at making your own.

WIRE

I highly recommend 3mm Silver Aluminium Metal Florist Wire

It’s a super bendy and cuts with just scissors

I believe it’s 11 Standard Wire Gauge (however the packaging doesn’t say so this is just my guess)

I order my wire supplies from Inerra

I usually cut 3 lengths at 60cm but you can go shorter if for a wreath or garland.

RIBBON

For ribbon I recommend a min width of 25mm

I’ve used a 7/8” RG Ribbon (27mm) from C&S Floral Designs.

Tip: Wired ribbon does make the picks look great however you can use satin or any kind of ribbon.

The ribbon I cut the same length as the wire, then fold in half. The half way mark I then use to position the wire, so the ribbon folds in half over the end of the wire.

HOT GLUE

Tip: Use a lot of glue along each edge of the ribbon to make sure it seals before curling.

Happy Crafting!
