DIY Burgundy Curly Picks

Here are all the supplies used in my burgundy curly pick tutorial, I hope you enjoy it and have a go at making your own.

CURLING WIRE

I highly recommend 3mm Silver Aluminium Metal Florist Wire

It’s a super bendy and cuts with just an old pair of scissors!

I believe it’s 11 Standard Wire Gauge (however the packaging doesn’t say so this is just my guess)

For this tutorial I cut the wire to 50cm lengths as I'm using them on a slim Christmas Tree, but often cut them to 60cm in length.

RIBBON

For ribbon I recommend a min width of 25mm

For this tutorial I used this gorgeous burgundy velvet and and gold edged 1inch ribbon.

Tip: Wired ribbon does make the picks look great however you can use grosgrain ribbon too.

I cut the same length as the wire, then fold in half. The half way mark I then use to position the wire, so the ribbon folds in half over the end of the wire.

HOT GLUE

Tip: Use a lot of glue along each edge of the ribbon to make sure it seals before curling.
